Not blaming Petrie for the on pitch problems but is he out of his depth? It's a huge step to go from Mid-Senior Management in a big company to top dog at a professional rugby club.
The Solomons new contract was god-awful, poor player retention, poor player recruitment and still rattling around Murrayfield with tiny crowds. It's hard to see a positive future for Edinburgh.

Small mercies I guess. Just feel lucky you didn't have to watch Russell play sort of alright, not great, but not utter shite tonight. I'm not sure I'll ever be the same again.
You think you feel bad? Russell is probably tearing himself up with only getting an easy 5 try win. Shocking stuff.
How'd the Zebre game go?
Ah now, my team just lost at home to the fucking Italians. Let me take the piss out of Greg in peace.

Edinburgh: B Kinghorn, D Hoyland, C Dean, P Burleigh, T Brown, J Tovey, S Kennedy; J Cosgrove, N Cochrane (capt), M McCallum, F McKenzie, B Toolis, V Mata, J Ritchie, M Bradbury.
Replacements: S McInally, K Whyte, F Arregui, L Carmichael, C Du Preez, S Hidalgo-Clyne, D Weir, M Allen.
So from those who had their Scotland places in question we can assume Gilchrist, Hardie and Watson are all in the 23...

That is a very callow front row. Would like to see Carmichael getting some game time but I can understand holding him back given the inexperience elsewhere in the pack. Think we might get flattened by the big ulster pack.

I was dubious about signing Tovey but I think he's done well at Embra.

30th minute, Weir pulls a Weir and has his kick charged down. Luckily it is easily covered

Toolis putting a decent shift as well. He has put in a few decent hits. Ulster are not on a great night, but Embra are not giving them any space.
34th minute Weir kick another penalty. 21-3
Tovey back on.

HT 21-3
2 excellent tries.
No injuries.
Complete domination in lineout and rucks. Slick passing, strong tackling.
Can't really complain about this Half.

Strong period of pressure from Ulster. Embra poach it and recover.
Matta looks to have injured his arm. He is off.
45th minute

Legitimately feel sorry for Hoyland. Poor bloke. I reckon Toony will be a big fan when he takes over.
