That's a decent team considering the 6 nations is on, the backline looks threatening, hopefully a win for the Blues tho Leinster have decent depth to their squad.

Mr Potatohead is the ref too.

Lucky to even get a losing bonus point I think.

Why no Warburton?

He looked off the pace last week, surely in need of a game?

I thought he looked out of place rather than off the pace.

That is a strong team, maybe the Blues can target the inexperienced 2nd row.

I'd say both, but he's captain, when everybody but WG thinks AWJ is the obvious choice, so his place is safe.

Yeah, I thought that was probably the case, but I wonder why not, as it seemed logical to me that he should be.

They didn't release him back for
Edinburgh before Ireland. The game against calvisano was deemed enough to get him up to speed I guess

Two strong teams there. I'll try and watch that although the picking Anscombe at 10 when Wales want him at 15 for the next match whilst Patch resides at full back is a bit odd.

They're giving cuthbert and James 40 each at Gatland's request so I doubt they're going against his wishes. He's 10 next season so the more he plays there this year the better.

I think what doesn't make that much sense is that if Anscombe is seen as a ten, perhaps putting pressure on Biggar then it makes sense to keep him there. But at the moment he is seen as a stand in full back. That risks, in my opinion, creating the dreaded utility player effect and if Anscombe is going to feature as full back in this campaign, the getting him game time at full back might be more useful.

3 - 3 after 8 mins

Cardiff playing into the very strong wind in the first half

Shame not to sneak a win at the end with the wind at their backs, but a 1 point loss is better than expected. Cuthbert did put his hand up, but then James had a nice little break too.

Yeah pretty much my thoughts
Felt we were marginally the better team but a crazy moment gave Leinster the try they needed to pull ahead.
Cuthbert and James were pretty evenly matched, both made one impressive break. Still think James deserved another start (or a few) to prove what he can do on the international stage.
Dissapointed by our scrum - I had hoped the Aussie might help turn things around but if anything we were better when good old Filise came on

How did the back line go? It looked tidy on paper

I was quite excited by the back line before the match but the conditions were terrible so not really a game for them.
In the first half the team tactics were spot on. They weren't bad int he second half either but the freak breakaway try ruined our good work.
