June Internationals

With all the excitement of the Lions tour, it's easy to forget there is other rugby going on. Other nations' tests start this weekend:

Australia v Fiji - A tough first assignment for Fiji.

Japan v Romania - the WR rankings and past results say Japan is a clear favourite

Italy v Scotland (Singapore) - Scotland should win but the weather will not suit them. It will be interesting to see what sort of a crowd this draws.

Springboks v France - For all South Africa's woes, they should be able to handle France (actually ranked 1 place higher) at Loftus, right? One of the more intriguing match-ups of the weekend.

Argentina v England - Obviously an under-strength England side. They will find this tough.

USA v Ireland - Even without their Lions, Ireland will walk this.

Canada v Georgia - Canada have been dogshit lately. Georgia will lose credibility of they don't win this fairly comfortably.

I'd pick all the home-teams but the US to win, while agreeing Scotland should get the better of Italy.

Neither side looks great atm but France has been improving and they can match the Boks physicality

Sure, it could go either way, of course, especially the first hit-out of the season for the southern teams. Probably only Australia v Fiji and USA v Ireland look like foregone conclusions here.
