To an extent, for sure.
But there's no doubting he brought joy to many people's lives every weekend for many, many years. So he deserves some credit.

He perfected pulling power to make up for his looks and out-moded talents..certainly worked on the telly for generations, and with the ladies.
..didn't realise without the palladium gig he was going to jack it in at 30..
Got to give him credit for keeping it going just about to the end, suppose.

His appearance on HIGNFY was a masterpiece , worth a view just to see the look on panels faces . !
