shame Thorley is crocked, been looking good; hopefully Trinder will make it through again, indecently sprightly for someone who has suffered so much injury

Re: Sale vs Gloucester
What's the weather forecast in Greater Manchester tomorrow night? If it's dry, I can see this one being a really entertaining game. If it's wet though, it could be terrible.
Gloucester have played some nice rugby recently but they are never good on the road, so I fancy Sale to pick up the home win regardless of the conditions.

Met Office says rain during the day, but dry after 6pm. Sounds promising.

Difficult match to call, LBP for Glos probably due to us not travelling well currently and being still in Ackerman transition phase. Team looks decent enough on paper, very surprised to see Savage on the bench when he was out cold last week....... Williams making his debut from the bench will be of much interest to shed heads.

Yeah, actually slightly hard to see where Williams fits in with this side.

Looks like Solomana having a field day at the expense of Purdy

He's some finisher that guy. Surely there's a test player in there.Banquo wrote:Looks like Solomana having a field day at the expense of Purdy
Needs coaching on his defence, but he's got a good chance to make an England spot his own, though I recognise that wouldn't be popular with everyone!

57-10 is quite a hammering. I thought Sale would get a reasonably comfortable win but not by that margin. Worrying from a Glaws perspective.

Re: Sale vs Gloucester
Hmm - it really is. Gloucester are a totally different team on the road. Ackermann has his work cut out there.
I'm not going to comment any further on that scoreline though as I have a feeling Quins are going to get hammered by Saints today. Saints are in very good form and we're missing half of our first team - no Brown, Robshaw, Marler, Horwill or Buchanan, we have an average lock (Glynn) playing at 6 and a very weak bench. Could get ugly ...

At least we've got double Lion, Jamie Tiberts.

The backs aren't too bad. I actually prefer Walker to Visser, but I'm sure there are plenty who would disagree. Morris is a decent reserve for Brown.
I don't think I've seen a Quins pack that poor for a long time though? I'm seriously concerned about the breakdown and with Saints in good form, I think we could get destroyed up front.

I just don't want Lawes going anywhere near Smith.

Now I REALLY hope we can beat Wasps this weekend - I get a lot of abuse around here when Bath win and Glos lose normally; I can't really give it back if we both lose though

I think it may be time for another check on those posters who nominated De Klerk for the James Schuster award.Scrumhead wrote:Same here ...

Re: Sale vs Gloucester
Just watched the highlights. Great try by Solomona for his first, but what the hell was he doing tiptoeing along the dead ball line? I watched the replay in slow-mo and he clearly puts a toe on the line in one of his strides, so he's damned lucky that the ref didn't call for the TMO.
Bit of a weird game to watch the highlights of, cause the scoreline suggested that Sale utterly dominated, but all of the tries were from distance and you didn't get the impression that they were all over them in terms of territory or possession. Anyone watch the full thing?

Had a bad stream that kept being interrupted, but it felt like Sale were rather clinical, and Gloucester extremely wasteful. A few more things stick for Glaws, and it was a very different result.

Which position did O'Connor play? Couldn't work it out from the highlights.

Re: Sale vs Gloucester
Glos had the lions share of territory and possession, three intercept tries and 14 points shipped when 36 was in the sin bin essentially took all the wind out of gloucesters sails. Ackerman trying to get glos to play exciting rugby but terrible execution here just gave sale easy tries. Score line flattered certainly, but glos DID make that many mistakes.Puja wrote:Just watched the highlights. He is trying to get them doing that, but the skills aren't there, nor are they recognising when not to. Owen Williams may be able to bring some game management, painful as that is re BBGloskarlos wrote:Glos had the lions share of territory and possession, three intercept tries and 14 points shipped when 36 was in the sin bin essentially took all the wind out of gloucesters sails.
