Lots of people coming to my house ask for my password, which I give them.

Now my wife's ipad shows every site visited and searched as does my Samsung phone. Not a problem between ourselves.

But, does this mean all my visitors can as well, and is security compromised e.g. internet banking?

Are you saying your search history is showing on THEIR devices, or their search history is showing on YOUR devices?

If it's the former, you have a problem, but if it's the latter, you just have to clear your search history before they use your device. Obviously, this will be inconvenient if you have stored logins and passwords in your browser database, but again, if that's an issue, then you just have to create a new login on your pad for them to use. Just create a guest account.

If it is the former - your search history showing on their devices - then your router is storing and issuing it. This is something I've not seen before, but it's feasible. If it's happening, then you should find a setting in your router to turn it off. Contact your ISP helpdesk if they supplied the router.

I also have lots of people wanting to use my WiFi when they visit, so I have a separate access point for them, which means I don't have to give them my password, just the guest password, which I change regularly. I use this http://amzn.to/1QADY3V I never let them use my devices... Jesus...

Probably not the best idea to share your wifi. You have absolutely no idea what these people could be downloading on their devices. As for security, there is a risk in terms of any network shares on your network.

Personally, I wouldn't bother although my neighbours are cunts

Don't do it!!! Not only can they now monitor your network and potentially pick up some authentication data, if they access unlawful sites, it's your IP address that the police might track. Whilst you will have nothing on your actual laptops or tablets, it will take a long time to confirm that and it's your loss in the interim period.

I'd change my wifi password at the next opportunity if it has been compromised.

I assume your devices are showing your history alone. General good practice is to clear down your history fairly regularly. I'd be surprised if it's showing someone else's browsing, unless of course they are using your device.

In terms of security the only way really is to capture the entire traffic going to and from the router from within your network, to which they'd have to be on your network at the time and have the right tools to gather all this. There are other ways to do it, but they are very unlikely.

In terms of downloading inappropriate content then so long as they are not using your device then you'll generally be fine. Your external IP address will be the one that gets picked up, but a quick look at your router logs will show the internal IP address allocation and device type. They'll probably already have the device fingerprint, which should correlate to it not being yours.

I'd follow Hammy's lead and set up separate access for guests, which is pretty simple to do. I'd also restrict the level of Internet access that guest access has. Simple filtering should suffice, similar to the kids filters.
