I give Edinburgh the edge at 2, 4, 6 and 7 only, with 1 and 15 open to debate. Should be a fun game though, especially if Graham (great to see that he's played his way in) and Matawalu get to go up against each other at some point.

Van der Merwe v Seymour may be interesting.

Based on a couple of quotes from Rennie I think he may see Pete Horne as the starting fly half next season. This selection only supports that.

Weeg back row is pretty poor. Edinburgh will dominate that area for sure. After Ashe, Gibbins and Wilson there's not a lot of quality - appreciate Matt Smith is one to watch for the future but still nowhere near their level.

Weeg missing at least half their first choice pack, and all of their starting backrow. Will be tight.
Glasgow's maul defence has gone to shit. Coincides with departure of Dan the Man and arrival of Humphreys. Scotland's was shit under his watch too.
Still the Embra backs are a clusterfuck so hopefully we can do some damage there.

Good to see a number if guys who have spent time with the 7s involved on merit too. Shows it can be used to develop/refresh players.

Would have been nice to see Dell (or dicko)/Rambo/Nel v kebble/brown/ZJRF but not to be.

Without recruitment or until Fagerson, smith etc develop then back row is an area of relative weakness. Gibbons is very good but Wilson is still a bit meh for me (does knock his pan in tbf) and Ashe has a worse injury record than Hardie. Ashe has potential but at less than 40 pro games since his debut in 2012 he simply can't be relied upon.

Agree with all that.
Weeg releasing Strauss has to be one of the stupidest bits of business ever done in Scottish pro rugby.

But back to the topic at hand. I reckon Edinburgh will get one over Glasgow. Expecting the Edinburgh pack to beat Glasgow into submission despite the presence of Berghan.
I wonder what the odds are for someone pulling Fagerson's scrum cap and him losing his rag?

No odds here!
It’s the reason scrum caps were invented.

FFS!
My good lady has just accepted an invitation to some festive drinks at some friends’ house. We’ve to be there for 6, 6.15ish.
The bloke is rugby daft though, so I might be able to sit in a corner and watch the match, but seriously, what was she thinking?
Thought I’d share, as I have no-one to whom I can vent this afternoon!

I'd refer that to the disciplinary panel.

It will be interesting to see if Embra get Kinghorn attacking in the 13 channel off JJs shoulder. He has the pace to give Jones issues and we know Jones isn't amazing in defence.

Well, the taxi (for which she is paying) is here. I think I’ve just seen the turning point of the game anyway...
Edit - to say thanks for your messages of support!

Everybody on this board knew he wasn't cut out for this level. I really do wish we'd stop giving him contracts. It's en embarrassment that he was ever capped. To think that VC and Toony think he is better than Welsh, Rae, etc makes me rage.
