Hi all

I read here a lot (rarely post) but am now in need of some advice/tips.

I'm a Derby lad but a Bath fan (tough to explain) and my wonderful daughter bought me the most amazing Crimbo present, tickets for Bath v Tigers at Twickenham on April 7th. It's going to be my first time seeing Bath in the flesh as well as my first visit to Twickenham so a double first and am major excited

The girl said she'd drive so I could have a drink but I'm a bit skeptical about this, is driving down there a wise move, what's the traffic and parking like on a match day, would we be better off getting a train or coach? .... As we'll be traveling from Derby I thought maybe some Tigers fans out there may have some useful advice/tips/info?

Depends if you want to hang around or get out and back. The queues to get on a train afterwards are horrendous, but if you hang around for a few beers and a bite, then it'll die down. If you want to get out quickly, renting a parking spot on someone's driveway (£15-20, just google it) somewhere to the north or east of the ground will be very easy and misses the crappiest traffic.

I’ve been down to Twickenham a few times from Nottingham. I’ve tried once by train and it was a nightmare. All the other times I’ve been drive down - who goes to the rugby and doesn’t have a few beers.
I nearly always park in Whitton pay and display - stick Library Way, Twickenham, TW2 7AP in your sat nav - which is 10/15mins walk away. It’s three hour max but that gives you time to get there, watch the match and get back. If you want to spend a bit longer there, get down for lunch, park on one of the side streets - almost impossible if you don’t get there at least two hour before kick off - and have a bite to eat at Cafe Venice on Whitton High Street.

Have had a google on the parking on peoples driveways and reckon this is a pretty good option as it gives us plenty of time before and after to have a nose round and the price ain't too bad at 20 quid.

Road not far from the ground called Pope’s Grove. I park there every Quins or England game. Easy walk to the ground too and near the Alexander Pope which is a decent fullers pub

Have just booked one, ten minutes walk from the ground, online reviews were pretty good, said its just outside the zone that gets closed off on matchdays so ok if you want a quick escape but we're gonna hang around and make the most of it I reckon.

Cheers for the tips guys I was seriously considering the train so glad I asked and avoided that nightmare.

Park at the Stoop or Richmond-upon-Thames College. Not great to get in unless you arrive uber early, but very close and get away v quickly. Was £20 last time for me.

All I'd add is if you're reading, why not post? Of all the rugby forums, I'd say this is one of the friendliest and most active. No @rseholes or keyboard warriors here. All opinions are welcome as far as I am concerned and it really is a case of the more the merrier!

Yeah I guess it's a bit selfish of me reading the forums but not contributing so I'll make a new years resolution to join in a bit more.
