D'ya think it would inspire the players to reflect that this match is probably more important to the Ospreys and Scarlets than it is to the Blues? ;)

"win this one and the mutants west of Bridgend can lord it over us that they're flying the flag for Wales in the European group stages again"

I almost broke into a rendition of yma o hyd just writing that...

good to see James playing where he is at least appreciated & that Anscombe is away with Wales

Why the latter?

i'd rather see Patchel & Fish play to be honest - i've not really seen anything from Anscombe to suggest he really merits starting over either of them for the Blues & certainly not for Wales

The good guys:
Ulster: Stuart Olding; Craig Gilroy, Luke Marshall, Sam Arnold, Jacob Stockdale; Paddy Jackson (capt), Ruan Pienaar; Callum Black, John Andrews, Bronson Ross; Peter Browne, Franco van der Merwe; Robbie Diack, Chris Henry, Nick Williams.

Replacements: Jonny Murphy, Kyle McCall, Ricky Lutton, Roger Wilson, Sean Reidy, Paul Marshall, Darren Cave, Rory Scholes.

Probably a better side than went out against the Scarlets, which is odd. I think we've got 3 locks injured which is frustrating.

I would certainly have Anscombe over Fish

Great result for Cardiff today. The second half with the wind helped and the fitness of Cardiff certainly showed up Ulster.

Dont think it was fitness as we showed the same lethargy in the first 40 minutes as we did in the last 15.

What would you say it was, if it wasn't fitness

We played like we'd been out on the lash the night before from the outset. we were sloppy throughout.
