The Welsh rules are certainly having an affect on him and his selection, Ackerman has been supportive of his 6N desires as far as I can tell.

How has it affected his selection at Glous? wales haven't kept him in the squads and Ackermann not been picking him at all in the last 4 weeks.

This was an excerpt from an Ackerman interview for the citizen talking about OW. So in addition to time away from the squad during involvment he has had with the Welsh this season, this is the view from above:-
The difficult one at the moment is sometimes you look at your bench and your bench must be utilised in different positions and then you’ve got a choice between a specialist nine and a specialist 10 but also you need a specialist wing, full-back and you need a specialist centre.
And that’s where sometimes it’s not about him or what he can or not do it’s all about how we’re going to compile the bench and because Billy Twelvetrees has successfully in the past helped us in that 10 channel then sometimes it’s easier to get the knowledge into those two players who are covering 10, the two Billys (Burns and Twelvetrees) and then go for a specialist centre or wing on the bench and that’s maybe where it’s difficult for Owen at the moment.

So basically he is behind Billy Burns and Twelvetrees currently.

He's behind Burns and not offering enough breadth to warrant a bench place.
I would personally like to see him being given a run, other tweets and posts from the management are in support of him staying put... Burns has been a little hit and miss for me this season.

Trinder just being rested I suspect, took a knock to the head last weekend.
Good to see VRR start, been absent a long time. No Thrush at all, suspect this has to do with his French move at the end of the season. No Vellacott on the bench to speed things up in the last 20 and big Dave preferred on the wing to Marshall. Suggests a direct approach to me for this match. Sinoti and Goneva could have a field day against Dave H frankly.....
It is a pretty strong looking bench though that said, fairly impressive.

Braley has looked more accomplished recently. Maybe not quite the pace and tempo but more controlling.

Agreed, Braley played a full 80 I think against Wasps and did well. Vellacot has the X factor that can change the game up against tiring defences, but his overall game management is behind Heinz's by a margin currently.
Game is officially on today following a monumental local effort to clear the snow. Many volunteers involved, even Deano made a couple of shovels worth of contribution.

Great video of the Newcastle coaches and staff helping shovel snow yesterday is doing the rounds on the interweb superhighway somewhere. Even Bedford managed to get their game on. A large bit of plastic and lots of volunteers saw to that. I've just arrived in town, 'sadly' a little too late to volunteer.

Yes! Great efforts up and done the country. Someone on shedweb who volunteered at kingsholm was there when Deano chipped in, he only did a couple the went back into the warm

Every little helps though.

No Toby Flood?
I believe he was in the team originally selected. Maybe he was injured clearing the snow from the pitch !

Think the yellow card was actually a bit lucky. Lovabolovu got a 6 week ban for less than that
