Name Your Rugby Hero Growing Up

Post by rowan »

Mine was Murray Mexted. Eventually met him too :D

Actually I was a little spoilt, as there were 4 Wellington lads starring for the All Blacks at the time - the others being Stu Wilson, Bernie Fraser and Allan Hewson. I guess that's one of the reasons I got so interested in rugby, despite not having played it before high school.
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Plum or two in the mouth, no doubt?

Dan Baugh.

Modelled my game on his. Quite funny watching opposition fly half start throwing 3 or 4 intercepted passes after the first 4 tackles

Jerry Guscott is no toff. Bit of a nob, but definitely not a public schoolboy.

But you know those English backs always sound like Teddy Meldrum in the after-match interviews
