6N team of the tournament

I'm really struggling at 8 and 12. I could well end up with Stander at 8 just on the basis of who else, but 12?

Healy
McInally
Furlong
Ryan
Gray
Negri
Leavy
?
Murray
Sexton
Stockdale
?
Bastareaud
Earls
Minozzi

Very impressed with Best, POM, AWJ, Navidi, Guirado, Barclay, Hogg. I can barely think of an English player to put on the impressed by list, none would be close to the XV

Maybe Parkes at 12, but then again, really?

Shingler impressed
I think the BBC cheated by putting Basta at 12 (if I remember correctly, I'm too lazy to go look)
I'd throw Stander in at 8 too, much for the same reason

Mako comes closest to the impressed list for me… Zero lost scrums on own put in, good in the loose, just looked a bit fatigued - he is one of our best players in my view

May?, and Jones had some howlers in defence, nailed on classic howlers which is why I discounted him. I have to confess it never occurred to me to consider Hill, now they mention him I'm not inclined to consider him. Watson and Mako, fair enough, but not for me based on this 6N.

Shingler I seem to recall coming on and doing something very daft against France, and it was a bad effort in the main against Ireland.

Conversley, we conceded free kicks or pens on 33% of oppo scrums, which was the highest in the Champ; but, yeah, probably our best player.

Stephen Jones had him in his team of the championship........trust your instincts.

Who did he ignore to include him and was his other lock Vahaamahina?

I can’t quite remember. It was either him or Attwood.

Eek, didn't know it was that high - how many of those were because of ridiculously slow calls from the refs?
(When both teams are pre-engaging, maybe leave your ego behind and help them out)

No idea. Still, as the BT Sport analysts will tell you ten times a match, it's about painting the right pictures.

The England attack patterns are based on some of Picasso's works in surrealism, there's potential in the picture, but it's often not easy to see what's going on and it rather looks a mess.

Funny you draw that analogue...... I thought Eddie reverted to paint by numbers at the crucial moments.
Seemed to me the England team would have played better with a bit more freedom of expression.
