So the SRU have just released a whole load of AGLV for minis and youth rugby

Basically the highlights


P1 - P3 - The same
P4 - Keep tackling but also introduc concept of tackle hold ( a tackle can be completed without going to deck)
No rucking
P5 Drop the tackle hold
No rucking
P6 Rucks introduced 1 - 1
Kicking from anywhere on park
P7 Rucks can be 2-2
Kicking from anywhere on park
No lineouts

S1 - Kicking from anywhere
Uncontested unlifted lineouts

S2 Uncontested lifted lineouts
No 8 can pick and as long as they pass straight away



I have to say i think the changes are going to be really positive and make rugby far less the contact sport it is currently.

How much are those just clarifying what happens already and how much are they really new. Not really up to speed on the current rules but some of this seems familiar from seeing the mini games at half time etc.

Cant really remeber how it worked when I was little. In my head it was just a smaller version of international rugby but I suspect it was chaos.

Not a fan of uncontested line outs, especially unlifted ones.
