BRISTOL BEARS SEVENS SQUAD:
Matt Welsh – A member of the Bristol Bears Academy, Matt Welsh is in his second year with the club, having graduated through the ranks. The powerful back represented Durham University in the BUCS Super League in 2017/18.
Jack Capon – Back rower Jack Capon is a member of the Bristol Bears Academy. The Exeter University student – who came through the age groups at the club – made his senior debut on the final day of Bristol’s Greene King IPA Championship title winning campaign.
Mike Uren – Versatile forward Mike Uren is set to run out in his second Premiership Sevens tournament this weekend, having represented Bristol in 2016 at Sandy Park. The Bristolian, whose two brothers have both played professionally for the club, has featured for Bristol in the A-League (now known as the Premiership Rugby Shield).
Reiss Cullen (c) – Reiss Cullen skippers the squad for the 2018 competition. The only senior member of the Bears squad included, scrum half Cullen is in his second year in the West Country, having joined from Watsonians.
Ioan Lloyd – Centre Ioan Lloyd burst onto the scene in the U18s League last season with a string of impressive performances. The hugely talented midfielder – who studied at Clifton College - earned international recognition with Wales U18s.
Nathan Chamberlain – Nathan Chamberlain came through the ranks of the Academy and agreed professional terms at the beginning of the season, while also studying at Hartpury University. The fly half represented Scotland U18s last season as well as Bristol Academy in the U18s League.
Lailand Gordon – Former Bristol Academy winger Lailand Gordon came through the ranks at the club, before spending two seasons in the England Sevens Academy. The speedster studied at SGS College in Filton, Bristol.
George Harding – Sedbergh product George Harding is set for his first outing in Bristol Bears colours on Friday evening. The Durham University student played a central role in the BUCS Sevens success, while also representing England Students Sevens.
Ehize Ehizode – Ehize Ehizode joined the Academy at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign. The rangy lock arrived from Wasps, where he represented the Coventry-based outfit in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
Dan Thurston – Back rower Dan Thurston came through the age groups, before agreeing professional terms with the Academy ahead of the 2017/18 campaign. The Bristolian studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Blake Boyland – Bristol Academy U18 scrum half Blake Boyland came through the age groups at the club. The SGS Filton man made his international debut for England U18s during an impressive 2017/18 campaign.
Sam Cappaert – Versatile back Sam Cappaert joined Bristol Bears Academy in the summer of 2018. The former Northampton Saints Academy fly half – who was born in Essex - represented Bristol in the A-League last season.

I don't think Bristol are taking it seriously, the senior squad are all training in Portugal.

Would be surprised if anyone other than wasps take this seriously.

Some clubs sometimes send out a lot of ringers. Wasps seem to use it as part of the conditioning program and to get an early hit out. Suspect we'll do the same this year.

I miss the Middlesex 7s

Wasps sending out the youngster this year apparently, using it as development.

Is it on the old gogglebox?

I expect Saints to be academy plus Tom Collins and Alex Mitchell.

Tigers to actually play some Tigers players!

I expect Bath to borrow some students from the uni, and some of Rokos army mates; maybe including McConnochie from the actual squad for some leadership

Warriors Premiership Rugby 7s team
1 Michael Mellett – Winger Michael Mellett is no stranger to the Sevens circuit domestically and abroad. He has represented Irish Wolfhounds, Rambling Jesters and Susies Saloon – the latter with whom he won the Algarve Sevens earlier this summer. He also plays 15s rugby for Barnhall RFC in Ireland.
2 Zac Ward – Back row Zac Ward has been training with Warriors this summer and will combine studying at Hartpury College in the coming months with playing for Hartpury RFC in the Greene King IPA Championship.
3 Tom Fawcett – Tom Fawcett joined the Warriors Academy set-up at the age of 13 and has just begun his first year in the Senior Academy. The back row has represented England Sevens at the Youth Commonwealth Games, winning the silver medal in 2017. He has also represented England Under 17s and captained Warwick School last season.
4 Craig Jackson – Craig Jackson joins Warriors’ Sevens team off the back of playing for Scotland in the Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco. Jackson has previously represented Warriors in the Premiership Sevens and also at the Rosslyn Park Floodlit Sevens. The versatile back plays his 15s rugby for Melrose RFC in Scotland.
5 George de Cothi – Scrum-half George de Cothi came through the Warriors Academy pathway before making 12 appearances for the first-team. He has featured for Warriors in previous Sevens tournaments and also represented the England Sevens Academy. Since leaving Warriors, De Cothi has played his 15s rugby at Loughborough University and more recently at Ampthill RFC in National League One.
6 Will Butler (C) –
7 Luke Scully – Fly-half Luke Scully has impressed in pre-season following his move to the Warriors Senior Academy earlier this summer. The youngster, who has represented Wales at Under 18 level, will be donning the Blue and Gold for the first time.
8 Nick David – Full-back Nick David featured in last year’s Premiership Sevens and shone for Worcester Cavaliers in last season’s A League campaign as he played six times in their third-place finish in the Northern Conference. David spent time with Stourbridge RFC during the 2017/18 campaign in National League One and has also represented England from Under 16 to 19 levels.
9 Jordan Ainslie – Winger Jordan Ainslie came through the Warriors Junior Academy before signing for England Sevens Academy. Now at Bath University, Ainslie has played in numerous Sevens tournaments domestically and abroad.
10 Naca Kinikinilau – Naca Kinikinilau is a mainstay on the Sevens circuit, having played for specialist side Rambling Jesters this summer. The centre plays his 15s rugby for Old Merchant Taylors’ RFC and will add experience to a young Warriors group.
11 Mason Tonks – Back Mason Tonks has represented England Academy Sevens and played for Gloucester Rugby at last year’s Premiership Rugby Sevens.
12 Joss Linney – Winger Josh Linney has represented specialist Sevens side Rambling Jesters this summer while he plays his 15s rugby for Bishops Stortford RFC in National One.

Capsticks pretty decent, Wright is rated very highly just had a horror run on injuries and Barry Karea is a wrecking ball and a bloody nice kid with it as well.

There's loads of age grade players who will be worth checking out. A few current England U18's plus last years, along with some graduates of the age group system.

Jack Reeves (Glos), Tom deGlanville (Bath), Kieran Wilkinson (Sale), Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti (Newc), Henri Lavin (Tigers), Harry Barlow (Quins), Richard Capstick (Exe) and Manu Vunipola (Saracens) are well thought of.

7's at this level is pretty boring.
