No Toby Flood? C’mon, Newcastle ! Montpellier have some high class players but are beatable and if they do well in the December games with Edinburgh, they may well go through to the QFs.

If Eddie Jones let’s Johnny Williams slip through England’s fingers i’m going to be so pissed off.

Cracking first half that from Newcastle. Montpellier are very fortunate to be within 10 points!

Fantastic composure from Newcastle!! Almost threw that away, but phenomenal to see that out in the end.

40 phases at the end? That was a good effort to come back after conceding the advantage.
Felt Wilson was impressive - his workrate is just terrific. Williams again looked very good.

I'm confused about whether the Newcastle team rotated a bit for these games (not expecting these victories?) or Harris/Flood/Welch etc. have dropped out due to form/injury?

Harris just a bit of rotation and form I think, Welch and Flood are injured.

Although on form, you'd have to put Hodgson ahead of Flood after those two games.
Newcastle are just superbly coached and organised. Even riddled with injuries and numerous changes, they won away in Toulon, and then backed it up today. They appear to be able to bring any player from the local area or academy and get them into their system to work as good a cog in their machine as any of their 'star' names.

Its always good for the soul to see Newcastle do well. Dean Richards has done a great job and theres something really unpretentious and down to earth about the team typified by the superb Mark Wilson.
More power to them.

I’d much rather see the unpretentious Wilson at 6 for England than loud-mouthed Itoje.

Me too. I want to see loud mouthed and brilliant Itoje at lock for England.

Worth remembering Deano has coached them to a lowly league position this season, but Europe is proving more promising
I did like Deano saying he wasn't fronting the beer bill as he claims to have done last weekend. Interesting too he said the players would be getting some days off this week, I wonder how true that is, do they not have them in Thursday and Friday doing final analysis, tactics and captain's run, or do they skip recovery? Or maybe he says days off when they're actually in albeit not being flogged

True, although I would say they've been unlucky in aome of their opening games and the Prem is so tight below the top 2 that an extra win or two would see them in a radically different position. They won't stay where they are.

They have defo usurped Exeter as my fave second team. Their ongoing improvement is great to see. I haven't seen this game yet, but Williams is looking like the signing of the season so far.
