Stade Toulousain v Wasps

Post by francoisfou »

Looking at the line-ups below, one would see only a victory for Toulouse who are beginning to look like the team of a few season's ago, with classy backs like Guitoune, Kolbe and Dupont (who will surely be first choice scrum half for France in the 6N and World Cup).
Wasps are missing a shedload of first choice players so I'm expecting to see a bonus point win.
Weather forecast isn't good but looking forward to the match!

Le XV du Stade Toulousain : 15. Ramos ; 14. Huget, 13. Guitoune, 12. Ntamack, 11. Kolbe, 10. Holmes, 9. Dupont ; 8. Kaino, 7. Elstadt, 6. Cros ; 5. Tekori, 4. Verhaeghe, 3. Aldegheri, 2. Marchand, 1. Castets

Les remplaçants : 16. Mauvaka, 17. Pointud, 18. Van Dyk, 19. Galan, 20. Axtens, 21. Bézy, 22. Mermoz, 23. Médard

Le XV des Wasps : 15. Le Roux ; 14. Neal, 13. Daly, 12. Le Bourgeois, 11. Bassett ; 10. Searle, 9. Hampson ; 6. Morris, 7. Young, 8. Carr ; 5. Hall, 4. Matthews ; 3. Brookes, 2. Johnson (c), 1. B.Harris

Les remplaçants : 16. A.Harris, 17. Zhvania, 18. Stuart, 19. Rowlands, 20. T.Willis, 21. Porter, 22. Sopoaga, 23. Campagnaro

Wasps in for a difficult time. Hard to see them getting anything from the game and denying Toulouse a BP.

Daly and Le Roux would be huge losses, Le roux has been the standout in this game

Le Roux has made a few big errors too. Daly looks like he used to some time, but it's been a while since he has. Nice to see.

Le Roux as a non-international, was valuable to wasps (after a season of settling in), Le Roux as a superstar international again, is perhaps not such good bang for buck.

Dupont is a really terrific player.
Wasps had their moments and were in it for quite a while. Defence remains their major weakness with far too many one on one tackles being missed.
WLR does some nice stuff with the ball but he gifted Toulouse a try and plainly doesnt fancy putting in a proper tackle.

Back from the match and slightly worse for wear, but from what I remember, a good win, although we shipped too many points!
