Seems even he is confused as why and how this has played out the way it has.
The SRU dropped the ball with him IMO. If his injuries were a problem he should have been presented with an appropriately reduced deal. He was never a bad player or out of form IMO.
I really hope he makes a success of the move to Brive as I think he still has something to offer.

Yep. Really gutted to see the way his career has gone since that knee injury. I remember being so hopeful he’d be back fit and on form in time for the ‘15 RWC, but if taking the proper time for rehab meant missing out then it would be well worth waiting.
It’s amazing it’s 4 years later now and we never really saw anything consistent from him again. I don’t feel like it was just the knee that caused it all, but we only saw glimpses of ‘13/14 again after it. Scotland really don’t seem to do these types of players very often.

The autumn game was much like this years 6N v the Taffs. We had a ton of possession and territory but wasted it all. Although in the autumn game I'm sure P Horne scored a nice try from Hornitos chip over the top that was disallowed by the TMO.

Re: Dunbar
Because it exposed the parts of the game he was once good at as being poor. His defence was shocking that day and although he didn't miss many tackles (3), often he wasn't sliding over to take the right man. The relative speed in defence he once had was gone and he was ineffective most of the game. He then followed it up against Fiji with a fairly average performance (1 good run and poor in defence). He then was injured/dropped by Glasgow and was never going to be offered a new deal with the centre options they have and the pay he could get elsewhere.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:How so? He is nothing like the player he was and with a limited budget there is little room for sentimentality and being fair to the player it is best he was let go to earn more elsewhere.
