Argentina RWC squad

I've just seen the Argentine squad and I'm utterly baffled. I get that they want to keep foreign-based players to a minimum, but ignoring Facundo Isa in favour of a 70-year-old Leguizamon is madder than a box of frogs. Same with the flat out refusal to consider Imhoff and Cordero.

England and NZ can get away with hard-line selection policies because they have a) a lot of money available to those who wear the national shirt, b) never made an exception, no matter how exceptional, and c) have a plethora of high quality domestic teams for players to play their rugby in, not just one. I cannot see how you can have a national team based around one domestic professional side.

Also, why have Argentina stopped producing a decent scrum? It used to be that the backs were a bit crap, but they'd duff you up in the forwards. Now? I can't see them getting out of the group. Hell, I think Tonga and the USA might be looking at them as their best chance at an upset.

Hari kiri in terms of this world cup

Obviously it's being done for long term again but they seem to be singlehandedly taking on globalisation !

Wow. That’s nonsense. That’s quite a big proportion of their real firepower in just 3 players. There’s a reason other people wanted to pay them silly money to have them.

Only other notable ones than the ones I mentioned earlier are Facundo Bosch and Galarza, but that's still 5 players who most neutral observers would have in their first XXIII. Bananas.
