Starting Wingers

Post by Mikey Brown »

So, haven't made a pointless thread in a few days.

Who are you picking on the wing?

Maitland and Seymour both pretty reliable, experienced, fast, strong but you can't deny that neither have shown the x-factor (I know) Kinghorn or Graham have.

Given the reduced level of spark in midfield I feel like we'd be missing a trick here to have neither involved. Pair one of the Edinburgh boys with the safer option on the other side perhaps. Counter to that we're possibly going to be pretty green in three-quarters and I don't know how much experience any of them linking up in defence with Taylor or Harris at 13.

Maitland + 1.

Preferably Graham for me.

Horses for courses.

I'd start Maitland and Seymour v Ireland given their love of the kicking game and aerial threat.

Maitland and Graham v Samoa, Japan

Maitland and Graham/Seymour.

Kinghorn isn't in the equation.

Isn’t in the equation? Weren’t you the one saying Kinghorn should be a wing and Graham a fullback not long ago?

I feel like Kinghorn looks like a real threat every time he plays there, and even if he’s in the 23 shirt he’ll be covering wing surely so must be some sort of option there?

Didn’t realise we’d see unanimous votes for Maitland.

One more for Maitland here - he’s playing well at the moment.

As far as the other wing goes, let’s see how Tommy goes tomorrow. He’s been a wee bit out of sorts, but has shaved his beard now and looks happier.

I wouldn't have been in the Maitland camp until recently but he is showing form. Tough call on the other wing. I feel we should go with Graham but not one I could get too angry about. I have a soft spot for Seymour but he would be lucky to start on the last year or two's form

Yeah, apart from his horror drop, Seymour looked decent but Darcy is our form winger
