Is Vakatawa at 12 a new thing? Still hard to focus on much about that Argentina side other than the players that are missing.

I get that France could build up a head of steam and definitely feel that team could play 80 minutes of wonderful rugby.
But I also look at it and really wonder how poorly prepared we'd have to be not to top the group!

Side note:
If Dupont and Ntamack can make smart decisions between giving the ball to Fickou or Vakatawa, that 9/10/12/13 looks good on paper

The thing about Ntamack is his line kicking is ubergash.....he can make 25 yards tops and ramos is not selected so vakatawa gives go forward i suppose.

Yes paddy, Vakatawa has already played centre à number of times... in club.
We'll see, I would have prefered Guitoune.
I still don' t get why we don' t play n'tamack as a five eight..

When I've seen him there his defence has been a bit shoddy.

Me too, but I'm sure he'll play in the key match against England.

Ntamack is only 20 and am sure will improve during the World Cup, but I don't see him as the long-term fly half for France. I wouldn't be surprised if young Louis Carbonel of Toulon is picked at 10 in the next 6N.

I know he’s young, but doesn’t mean he is any more suitable to be starting at 12 than 10

ALLEZ LES BLEUS!
This is why I've always loved them.
They can brutalise you up front, and they can turn you inside out with an offload or sit your on your arse with a side step.
A confident, drilled France, is just a joy to behold. If only they had the chance for train together for more than 3 days at a time more often (especially with competent coaching)

Still giving away lots of cheap penalties though. Argentina not showing the freedom that worked for jaguares this year.

Oh, they've always been perfectly capable of taking their foot off your throat, and tripping over it with a moment of unalderated stupidity too. Somtimes literally.

Half time and Ntamack is going well - looking like a mature and classy FH. Good all-round game, sound place kicker and has put in some strong tackles too. The Ntamack/Dupont halfback duo could develop into a very good pairing.

The coaches need to earn their money here and make a change, get some fresh instructions on. Picamoles would make sense, a decision maker.
