Hogg.

Exeter's system is geared toward 2 big guys and a little one. Simmonds is ahead of Kvesic, rightly I'd suggest, so that's what it is.Oakboy wrote:Has Kvesic dropped his trousers in the bar again? After last season's form I thought he might be first choice. It does not pay to be versatile.
It would be worth it alone just to see JNGF lose his mind if we fielded 6. Curry 7. Underhill 8. Simmonds.Stom wrote:Exeter's system is geared toward 2 big guys and a little one. I'd love to see Simmonds launching off the back of England's pack, tbh, even though our flankers are "lightweight".
Ah, with Kvesic on the bench. I get it.Mikey Brown wrote:

I'd love Simmonds as our back row bench option for England. He's made for it. Can cover 7 and 8 and is such a wonderful impact option.Stom wrote:Exeter's system is geared toward 2 big guys and a little one. Yep. Him or Clifford. Explosive ball carrier, bit of jackal and able to cover all three positions. Just need to keep them fit.TheDasher wrote:I'd love Simmonds as our back row bench option for England. He's made for it. I may have spotted a teeny flaw in the plan. Feels like he's never strung five matches together without something major happening to him.Mellsblue wrote:Yep. Him or Clifford. Not sure Willis is quite the ball carrier like those two. That said, I’m too busy eulogising over his 20 turnovers a match to look at his carrying.Stom wrote:It's damn unluckyDanno wrote:I may have spotted a teeny flaw in the plan. Willis covers all 3 slots. I'd have him in the 23 for sure. He's a beast. Hot damn, we're going to struggle to fit them all in.
Once Billy retires early to be a plumber, I’d love Mercer to cement the no8 spot.Which Tyler wrote:Or MercerMellsblue wrote:Yep. Him or Clifford. Explosive ball carrier, bit of jackal and able to cover all three positions. Just need to keep them fit.TheDasher wrote:

Or Kvesic
Or Willis
Or...
We have an embarassment of potential in the backrow - it will be interesting to see hwo makes it, who's never given a chance to make it, who makes it at club level but fails to translate, and who simply fails to live up to his early promise.
Thankfully, we've got enough coming through (and established but young) to be able to afford our usual squandering of talent.
