What even is this noise that he makes?



He does it again later (couldn't find it on youtube), when he breaks a tackle and charges into the next one shouting "BWAAARRRGGHH! RAARRGHH!" Is this something that he does regularly in Super Rugby, or has he saved his throat singing just for playing against England?

My first thought was some sort of Maori voodoo/hypnosis, urging George to throw it straight to him at the next line-out, but I see they've already scored their consolation try at that point. Maybe he's saying thank you in his own special way? George seems as baffled as you.

I noticed it live and couldn't stop laughing…

My friends were very confused by what I was saying…

“He just roared before contact”
“What!?”
“Show me your war face”

Even Maro doesn't shout mid-contact.

I'm really annoyed that there appears to be no youtube footage of the second one, as it's much more amusing. Savea breaks through the first tackle, starts roaring as he carries into Farrell and then keeps roaring as Farrell and BillyV wrap him up and bundle him into touch. Whatever it is, it doesn't work very well.

Seems pretty obvious to me. He's trying to go super saiyan and reach his final form. The one with the full 90's Fresh Prince haircut, and frosted tips.
