Update on Watson and Ewels injuries - "Bath Rugby confirms that both Anthony Watson and Charlie Ewels received MRI scans yesterday in order to ascertain the extent of the knee injuries they sustained at the Heineken Champions Cup fixture against Harlequins on Saturday.
Watson has begun his rehabilitation at the Club after confirmation that his injury is an MCL tear, and that he will not need surgery. Watson is expected to return to full training around the Christmas / New Year period.
Charlie will see a knee specialist tomorrow in order to confirm next steps of his management, with his scan having also confirming MCL tear, albeit of a slightly higher grade. The expected timescales of Charlie’s rehabilitation will be confirmed in due course"
Tough on Bath to lose them. They are not having much luck with injuries.

Dors’ only comment was to state that if Slade were to have a rib injury it would have been a superior one.

Bath are currently my least favourite Prem team. No imagination, no ambition, look poorly coached and fucking awful pitch. They don’t have a clue if their scrum isn’t milking penalties.

Great to see Homer channeling his inner Tom Biggs. What a barnet.

It’s like the good old days. Stodgy rugby, stodgy pitch and asbestos riddled stands. All we need is Guscott rocking up in his SWE van and we’re sorted.

Read the BBC match report and I think they used the word Farrell in every single sentence.

He put in a shift to be fair. I never fluff him but he was smashing bath big forwards (as were his team mates).

I didn’t see the game and I have no trouble believing that. It’s just funny to read it and not have any idea whether he really had an impact or not.

The BBC match report contained
527 words and the specific word "Farrell" featured seven times.
Six of these 'mentions' were straightforward factual reports in respect of his kicking, perhaps not surprising as he kicked six penalties and a conversion.
And the seventh, I quote:
" Farrell, both Vunipola brothers, Itoje and Kruis were all heavily involved as they powered through the phases and pulled the Bath defence out of position for Maitland to cut inside his marker and score in the left corner."
Again just a simple report of what actually took place.

Jesus. It certainly wasn’t a comment worth investing any energy in to.

All the England players were really good. Sarries looked well up for the battle. Probably would have been a 25 point victory on a half decent pitch.
Nick Tompkins was excellent in the 2nd half. He’s a real handful. Underhill had a strong game, too. Had a slight limp and looked pissed off when he was subbed, so hopefully nothing serious.

Farrell was perfectly decent. It wasnt a night for an all court virtuoso display, but he and his team mates did enough to bag the points without too much drama.
Bath disappointing again. Hooper has to be given some time, but a squad as good as this should be better, notwithstanding the long injury list they have.
