I thought this game deserved a thread of it's own seen as Cockers has started the "mind games". I like that he's trying to add a bit of spice to the derby.

I like it as well - am also glad he mentioned this specific issue, as I feel Glasgow's players that do it aren't quite as charming, for wont of a better word, as someone like Wyn-Jones, an absolute master at it. They can come across as a bit whiny and that could cost us in the 6 Nations. Surprised at him singling out Fraser Brown though. Maybe he feels Rambo is a bit quiet.

Cockerill whinging about anyone else whinging is rich indeed.
Glasgow aren't particularly whiny at all compared to Welsh and Irish teams especially. They do have a problem with Horne junior keeping his trap shut when he does like a decision beyond a whinge.

The idea that Edinburgh are not favourites is a good one. They should mince Glasgow on current form. If they don't then its down to Cockerill and his players yet again bottling it. Which in the last few years they have done regularly, except against one team. Glasgow.

I had to laugh when he absolutely screamed at the ref the other week for being ridiculously in the way.

Hard to see anything but a 'burgh victory as far as the cup is concerned.

I dislike referees that want to be the centre of attention. Baffling stuff

Absolutely nothing McInally could have done to get out of the way of that. Harsh.

Colour commentator Peter Wright reckoned it was a red.

I can’t see this ref tonight, but for me, if you see a ref wearing hair gel, you know their head’s not in the right place.

Bit of a grind for 60 minutes but entertaining last 20 mins with the good guys winning out in the end.

You could see Huw Jones confidence visibly rising after his excellent assist.

Fagerson was a monster all round the park. I bagged him pre WC but what a difference plenty of minutes have made after injury last year.

Thought it was a great game to be honest. A slog but had some intensity if not much skill in the first half.

Nothing worth a comment? Didn’t manage to catch the game.

inevitable card. The new focus is about trying to change how players tackles - and how coaches coach them to tackle. If you start with your shoulders high and are not first up, there is always a danger of what happened there.

Old school very harsh, nowadays, I've seen red for similar. Yellow was fair enough

Was also critical but on rewatching he got all the big decisions correct. I think he had a good game

very good game for Edinburgh fans and neutrals. Couple of great runs form their wings from turnover ball, outrageous out of the back of the hand offload from Mata for 1st Edinburgh score. Disappointing for Glasgow after a good start and a good try, all huff and puff and no end product after that. Final margin wider than the play suggested. Adamson is a really shit ref

worth catching the game somewhere or getting highlights just for Mata offload

Yep. Just started watching the game now. First two tries were great. I appreciate Jim Hamilton referring to him as Duhan McVan Der Merwe. What a beast. Toolis’s pass to the floor made me laugh though.

I see Iain Morrison has tried to remain relevant by penning two negative articles on the offside line and the Scotsman. Barclay called him out on the second.
