In the same mould, I think Scotland's George Horne isn't to far. He just needs more experience.
Dupont burst into pro rugby at 17? Seems like he has been there for ages.

Re: Antoine Dupont
Quite right too. Absolutely glorious 6N for him and it was utterly insulting that Ben Youngs was a nominee for the same prize given their respective tournaments. He was in a different class to anyone else in the tournament.tigran wrote:Dupont has been elected player of the 6 nations this year
My main desire when the RWC draw come this year is for England to avoid being drawn in your group. I'd rather share a group with literally any other team except for New Zealand.

If France don't peak too soon then there'll be favourites for their World Cup.

Don't you think they are a bit too young to pick too soon ?

Probably. He's got an awful lot of credit in the bank for his winning record so far.tigran wrote:Eddie Jones will still be coach ?Puja wrote:Quite right too. I think I noticed one pass that didn't go to hand and the French still almost got a try. So effortless as well.

But the fawning, jeez.
Easily the best 9 around, though.

He is quality, but he might not be a better 9 than Smith, Italy are no yardstick, and Beaudy is no 10paddy no 11 wrote:Best player in the world maybe beauden at 10 only competition?

Re: Antoine Dupont
Both quality, they differ a little in how they play and I guess it depends what you want in a XV from your 9. They're clear of the rest at the top though. I suppose if I could have for England either I'd pick Dupont, but on the basis he's getting on for a decade younger not around a standard of play

If Dupont were English, we wouldn't know yet if he was capable of stepping up to international rugby.Digby wrote:Both quality, they differ a little in how they play and I guess it depends what you want in a XV from your 9. He'd have about 80-100 minutes, spread over a dozen caps.
