Questions you'd like to ask Eddie (if you were a reporter?)

Hi - when called out at the press conference, I'd ask:
"Mr Jones, re your remarks on playing Tom Curry at No8 - of course, not his usual position - you stated: "I see [Tom]as a long-term No 8, so I am prepared to accept some mistakes for him to learn and become a better No 8,” Do you consider playing for England, in major international games, to be the appropriate place for players to learn new positions - gaining new skills and experience, but of course making mistakes - rather than players learning these at club level?

Mr Jones, how much harder will it make your successor's job if you continue till 2021?

Mr Jones, I wonder, have you read “Jane and Peter 1A - We can select” or alternatively “the good camping guide otherwise known as Round Pegs in Round holes” ?

Dear Mr Kettle,
I have to express my concern at the somewhat noirish hue that you've been exhibiting of late...

What, for you, makes a great SH performance? And what elements of a SH game do you feel are most important to his success?

We look better without the ball, relying on kicking the ball away and applying pressure looking for a mistake to play off. We might try something off 1st phase but if that's not rewarding to us it's back to kicking the ball away. Accepted it takes time to establish an attack, but you're into your 5th year, so when are you going to start? And when will your selection take account of the fact it'd be useful to be able to attack? Or is this in your view all there is for England, and we're so bad it's not worth trying more?

A good bit subtler than my question which would be:
“How badly does Ben Youngs need to play for you to drop him forever?”

I’d ask him if/when he sees that patchy, off-centre Jonah Lomu haircut catching on with the rest of the world.

All good q's. One advantage of my original q is that I can simply change "Tom Curry" to "Daly" and "No 8" to "Fullback" and then bill my editor for another question...

Also curious what position he'll have to pretend Vunipola is now best at (like Robshaw, Haskell, Tuilagi, Daly, now Curry) if he returns and Curry has actually done well at 8?
Will he be saying "actually I've always viewed Billy as more of a 6 and finally now got the chance to try him out there. I see him as a hard-hitting, workhorse, grindstone kind of blindside in the mould of a 2019 Tom Curry."

I think people sometimes mistake what Jones says to journos for what he thinks.

What can you learn about a players suitability for international rugby by giving them a few minutes of game time from the bench?
DEvoto got 4 minutes on Sunday. He's the latest in a long line of players put on for the last couple of minutes by Jones. Its a feature i find both pointless and hugely irritating.
