Irish pinged for double movement as they look to have scored. This is end to end!

And the result is a 22 all draw, so the title is shared this year.

From Tigers POV
Sam Edwards IMO is unlucky to not be in the England U18’s.
Will be interesting to see how tigers manage having 5 U21’s 9’a potentially.
Also like Archie Vanes, Kit Smith, Muncaster and Ollie Smith.
Shame Ilione was injured he’s a big leader.

As T has said for Tigers. Vanes was good as was Ollie Smith. We really missed Ilione.Puja wrote:Who were the standouts EP?Epaminondas Pules wrote:And the result is a 22 all draw, so the title is shared this year.

Jospeh and Rhodes was awesome for Irish. Haffar was also a real handful.
Player of the day though for me was Fin Smith. Aside from scoring a hattrick he was another level to everyone else today. And a nod of the head to Brantingham. That kid can scrummage!! Put Haffar him and Vanes together and that’s some front row!

On average, how many of these lads will be retained and given a senior academy contract?
What happens to those who dont make the cut. Is there any route open to them for advancement in the game?

All depends on the Clubs reallyfivepointer wrote:On average, how many of these lads will be retained and given a senior academy contract?

I think last year a total of 70 got contracts with the main 13.
But Exeter gave no new contracts out and tigers gave out 12.
From what I gather most players go into Uni.
So the likes of
Loughborough
Exeter
Bath
Nottingham
Etc
Others do go into the championship private academy’s.
A few go to other countries New Zealand is a option a few players take.
France Pro D2 really likes scouting the English academy and development squads to pick up cheap players.

Re: Finals day
Considering Bristol U18s had only one game (I think) prior to this years comp, they seem to be moving in the right direction. Shame they couldn't hold on after coming back from 21-0, might have helped in Deago Bailey had been available.

A few will move as part of exiles programmes as well. Some will go into the 7’s programme too.
