The SRU
Pretty excoriating article from Iain Morrison. Mentioning that Colin Grassie came from a senior position in an arguably even more toxic environment has helped explain a few things for me.

I think things need to come to a head soon - before the CVC money arrives. Try some new executive leadership.

unsurprisingly Morrison's smear and innuendo and made up stuff has managed to convince a few idiots. He has a perma hatred for all things SRU, has had for a couple of decades. wise up FFSGeneral Zod wrote:Pretty excoriating article from Iain Morrison. Hi Mark.
I see Richie Gray is so missed off with the SRU he has confirmed he still wants to play for Scotland and has signed back for an SRU owned and run team.
Damned inconvenient these facts things when spouting conspiracy theories and made up stuff.

You really need to lighten up you tedious bore, it was a joke. I don't really give a dusty fuck about all of the SRU politics. Are you this much of a tool in real life, or do you save it for us lucky guys on this board?

ah, so you can say what you like but can't soak it up back. Fine with me. Oh and if you don't give a dusty fuck about all of the SRU politics, 2 suggestions. One, you should. And two, don't comment on itChunks Baws wrote:Where would we all be without you to set us straight with your endearing brand of condescension?Still septic wrote:Hi Morry.Chunks Baws wrote:

I didn't comment on it. I made a joke and you got your knickers in a twist and went on a rant about Richie Gray, assuming that I agreed with the article.septic 9 wrote:ah, so you can say what you like but can't soak it up back. I'm guessing you're an even bigger tool in real life.

A joke or a wind up pop at me?
Either way my response bass in kind but added on about Morrison's "evidence". And you too offence and went with the name calling. Look in the mirror mate. It's not a pretty sight.

It’s quite impressive how you can ruin every single thread you comment on. You are one truly toxic individual.Still septic wrote:A joke or a wind up pop at me?

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Re: The SRU
Nah, he's a condescending pub bore. This place has been ticking over nicely for years without him and will continue once he fucks off in a huff. We don't always agree with each other on here but it's always been civil. He's incapable of disagreeing with people without snidey insults or coming across as a know it all prick. Most people have been ignoring him or holding back, it's time he was told want an utter tadger he is.Mikey Brown wrote:Haha. I like him.

I think TOL have become a bit of a parody.
Any good point they make is snowed under by the amount of shite they spew.

Re: The SRU
At the risk of getting this thread back on track, that article is a funny one to read. It's not well written and does just come over as a personal rant about the SRU.
But, it does also present a couple of talking points, not least the bit at the end about the clubs. Is anyone on here in a position in a club to know what's the chat about the SRU from the nat 2 or nat 3 clubs? Are they really that close to voting no confidence in the SRU hierarchy? What if they do, what does that really mean?

I reckon it's some cloning experiment gone horribly wrong in the bunker labs at Raeburn Pl.

Deferred salaries rather than reduced.
Sad to see when you consider how much other sporting bodies/clubs (both in & our of rugby) are doing to get through this.

On the face of it, it appears the SRU are confident they can ride this out financially. No mention of player wage cuts/cutter referrals or other staff taking a wage cut either. It also doesn't rule out further action if required.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Deferred salaries rather than reduced.

It doesn't look great but then again there are plenty companies out there not taking pay cuts at the moment.
I'm not too fussed at the moment. It is not the same debate as the one about their remuneration packages. We consistently hear how well the finances are run anytime people defend Dobson. Now is the test of that, they've made money available to clubs, thus far not penalised staff in anyway and have taken steps to free up a a bit of money. If they furlough staff and don't top it up in someway then there will rightly be criticism.

I can’t believe that they’ve just announced that Scotland will play a warm-up test against the Lions before they go to SA next year. It’s a disgrace. By all means use Murrayfield, but it should be a barbarians team, not Scotland. Guess it shows Gatland’s thinking already.

Oh come on - it finally gives other Scottish players than Hogg a chance to be involved with a Lions tour!General Zod wrote:I can’t believe that they’ve just announced that Scotland will play a warm-up test against the Lions before they go to SA next year.
