Cardiff Blues have announced the signing of exciting Super Rugby centre Willis Halaholo.
Halaholo will leave the Hurricanes to join the Welsh region later this year as Danny Wilson looks to build a squad capable of competing at the top of the Pro12 next season.
Looking forward to seeing this guy.

He's not that highly rated as far as I've heard.
Article also refers to Ma'a "Nono." So clearly well researched.
Opportunities for mid-fielders in NZ haven't been so good in years. Apparently he turned Tonga (ancestry) down for the World Cup so it's surprising he's chucked it in as far as NZ's concerned.
Oh well. Good luck with what's-his-name.

Still dining out on our sloppy seconds

Cardiff don't have strength in depth at centre, we have a couple of good uns and a clutch of no-hopers. I think he will improve the overall quality of the squad.

He was a promising midfielder. Some self-management issues in the past. He's been relegated to the Hurricanes' WTG, so he probably saw the writing on the wall and opted to take the British dollars. Can't fault him for that, and all the best to him.

Good point well made. If you're expecting another Laulala you're going to be disappointed though.

I don't think there is any need to blaspheme Billy.

That's what I was thinking, some nice touches but tackling seems like an optional extra for a lot of that.
Show reel made by his agent perhaps?

It's all NPC footage, so the players are a mixture of professionals, semi-professionals and academy players.

Exactly. Not to mention that most of the footage has either North Harbour or Counties as the opposition, neither of whom are at the top level even of the NPC.

To be fair, he looked OK against the Jaguares on Saturday. Mind you, when your job is basically get ball from Perenara to Savea, Barrett and Jane it shouldn't be too hard to look OK.
