Again, interesting to see squads. Glaws with very little change, Bristol with a mix, but not going into depth yet.

That should be a pretty good game. Super rapid back three for Glos

As I said on the welfare thread, I have no idea how May is cleared to play this weekend.
Excited to see Malins at 15 though.

May starting is a bit of a surprise. We used to have a mandatory 3 week rest if you got concussed. I know medical science has moved on from this but you would have thought being stood down for at least a full week wouldnt be the worst option to take.
Bris mixing it up a bit more giving starts to Sink, Earl and Malins.

May looked more in pain than out cold. Hopefully he's all good to go.
Two attacking sides on hard ground, game on. Hopefully Bristol turn up more than they did Vs Sarries.

Do you mean in an attacking sense? The conditions were pretty iffy......FKAS wrote:May looked more in pain than out cold. Hopefully he's all good to go.

Re: Glaws vs Briz - Friday nightgown for that way.
I’m surprised Jonny is playing, I also think on paper the two teams look pretty even. However, Glos rarely look better than the sum of their parts, whereas I think Brizz could be going that way. Home advantage mostly nullified, thinking LBP for Glos with maybe 4 try bonus. Hoping to be proved wrong.

In a lower error count sort of way. Conditions weren't great but neither was the standard of rugby in that game. Two very rusty teams struggling to hit their straps. Conditions should be better this weekend so I'm hoping both teams are throwing it around on a firm track looking to score tries.Banquo wrote:Do you mean in an attacking sense? Ah ok, I thought you may have meant attitude/effort when referring to 'turning up'.FKAS wrote:In a lower error count sort of way. Bristol are really great fun to watch, two lovely tries scored so far this game. Radradra is worth every penny.

Thorley has looked good on the rare occasion Glos have been on the ball, one of the best wingers in the Prem for me

Was Malins a proper signing for Bristol, or is he on loan?

Found some WiFi in time for the 2nd half, impressed with Radradra's first quarter!

I agree. He’s got a bit of everything in terms of pace, power, footwork. Not bad defensively either.Adam_P wrote:Thorley has looked good on the rare occasion Glos have been on the ball, one of the best wingers in the Prem for me
Just doesn’t get enough of the ball.

Meh, 36 missed two tackles that gifted the early tries. Shoddy defence gave Brizz an easy ride. Could have and absolutely should have, got a fourth try, so wasteful at times. Some solace that the Glos scrum had the edge for the most part.

36 is a waste of a spot in that team. Surely Cippers’ kicking isn’t that bad that you still need 36 there?

To be fair to him, I think a lot of centres will get done on an outside arc by Radradra this season.

Re: Glaws vs Briz - Friday night
Cips tee work doesn’t come with the best average, 36 is marginally better. Radradra is good, but 36 could have done better imo.
I’m impressed with Varney at 9, really livens things up.

Re: Glaws vs Briz - Friday night
I thought that was very entertaining. Glos didnt help themselves by falling off a few tackles but Bris were terrific in the opening quarter. Think Earl is going to be a very handy acquisition. Radradra is a real handful who will test every defence he comes up against.
Glos could have subsided but stayed in the game and enjoyed some good moments.

Young lad looked electric ball in hand. His passing, however, was awful. Glaws will need an enhanced medical team if he is going to play a lot so they can deal with all the bad backs and concussions those grass skimmers generate.Gloskarlos wrote: I’m impressed with Varney at 9, really livens things up.
