Re: Quins vs Bath - Saturday
Yes, real fans in the ground. That will be welcome.
A bit of rotation from both sides but they are largely sticking to the players who turned out at the weekend. Chance for Bath to bounce back and for Quins to consolidate after a good win against Saints.
Not much in it either way, I suspect.

Good to see we might get a decent contest on the telly this weekend, after 2nd vs 3rd being a one sided let down due to selection.

Herron and Young for Smith and Lewies ... WTAF? Unless they’re carrying knocks, those are bizarre rotations ...
Hopefully Care pretty much bypasses Herron as we’re definitely going to lose the battle up front. Herron’s not great on the front foot, let alone the back foot and Young is lightweight beanpole who is about half the weight of Stooke.

Not sure how that wasn't a knock on (unless he thinks it was JJ's hand), but nevermind

Brilliant poacher's try.
Just wish we could manufacture some backs tries rather than relying on that sort of thing and rolling mauls.

Outstanding finish there. Much better this week, so far.

What happened there? I thought I, err, Mike Brown didn't put the ball down when Spencer kicked through then, but then the cameras cut and I didn't see what the call was.
Leads to a try.

Typical Quins. Start well and then gift two tries to Bath through really bad errors.
Re. the second try, I don’t think Brown ever touched the ball down so I’m not sure it should ever have been a Bath scrum.

Watching this game I completely forgot about Will Evans.
Such a shame that Injuries really hampered him when he was starting to get some chances, early on.

We're just not training for fluency in the backs. Concentrating on the tight stuff and including the backs in the ruck training.Banquo wrote:Bizarre that you can’t, notwithstanding concerns at 10Which Tyler wrote:Brilliant poacher's try.

That's what I'm saying. That looked like a massive screw up from the ref, leading to a try, but I wasn't giving it my full attention.Scrumhead wrote:Typical Quins. Start well and then gift two tries to Bath through really bad errors.

Seems somewhat wasteful- it’s not like they’ve been short of timeWhich Tyler wrote:We're just not training for fluency in the backs. Yup, and we know that Dempsey can do it - if he's given that time with the players.
So frustrating

Re: Quins vs Bath - Saturday
A couple of times Bath players have shown a slightly different, and effective tackle technique.
For that last tackle, it's almost like Rhys won the collision, and then toppled Ashton towards the Bath try line - where our forwards could beat Quins' to the ball. Usually, you want to knock the attacker back, and let your forwards arrive with momentum, whilst stealing it from the attacking backup

Re: Quins vs Bath - Saturday
Hmmm, not sure that is the right decision.
Already 15 up, so the extra 3 push us from 3 scores ahead to 3 scores ahead.
Chance at the TBP seems more pressing
I guess we feel the momentum.is with us and 24 minutes is plenty of time

I think that more than evens out the mistake over Brown's non-touch-down
Thankfully shouldn't decide anything

Loosehead rather than tighthead, so I'd say 50m. If it had been tighthead, then somewhere in the region of 95m.Which Tyler wrote:Must have been a good 70m gallop there!
