Not hugely surprising. Extremists often want very simple solutions to a problem and refuse to acknowledge compromise or any difficulties implementing their plan. By definition they are also looking for those who identify with their opinions and can reinforce them, not challenge them.

This reminds me (for some reason) of Priti Patel on Question Time a few years back, calling for the death penalty.

She genuinely seemed to think that it could be applied in cases where we were 'sure' of guilt, as if she wasn't inventing some new and higher standard of proof than currently exists in criminal law.

She did that on HIGNFY too, telling Hislop it'd be okay they'd be sure of guilt rather than current wishy washy standard for those already serving time

Yep, add that kind of stupidity to a complete lack of empathy and you get a monster who should never have power over others, let alone at the national level.
