OK, I suppose. Nothing that flash.
Believe it or not, Len knew him as a yoof. He'll tell you.

He's good. He's not a world beater but he's quick and elusive and pretty strong and has the happy habit of being in the right place at the right time to finish off good moves. Good fit for the Scarlets.

He's good enough to have regularly started and averaged about 56 minutes per match for the Cru this year in Super Rugby (Cru are sitting 3rd in NZ conference and 4th overall) , but not good enough to have been seriously mentioned in connection with possible higher honours. Probably a decent signing, assuming the price wasn't mental.

Good, but not "great." Decent signing, and a solid guy to have in the team. He'll probably score his fair share of tries for the Scarlets, and be hailed as a legend.
He probably would've been a mid-week All Black if he were born 30 or 40 years ago.

Was in Johnnys class at school. Played for the same club as him. Both worked our first jobs together, Addington racecourse scrubbing pots. Hes a good lad, I hope you're paying him a tonne.
This one time some Crusaders came to our school for a kick around and a game of touch. There was Laulala, Thorn and Corey Flynn. Johhny burnt off Thorn on the outside. Thorny didn't like that, especially when Johnny gave him a bit of cheek. The next time Johnny got a hospital pass and who was waiting for him? Thorn smashed him with a shoulder and then said in his gravelly smashed up voice 'touch' . Funny as fack.
On that note Sydenham the club we played for has had some big names play for it. Johnny, Corey Flynn, Thomas Waldrom, Nasi Manu, Aaron Flynn, Telusa Veainu, Johnny Gray, Codie Taylor and probably heaps others I have forgotten.

Good thing that we're writing everything down, then.

Good news: McNicholl is not SQ and is prepared to play for Wales if the All Blacks don't come knocking.
He was on Radio Sport today and was asked if he still dreamed of being an All Black despite heading overseas. He said he had always dreamed of it (in a tone that confessed he was not ever going to make it). Unprompted, he explained that he had "no relatives over there" which I took to mean the Home Nations and said he could play for Wales based on residency if he stayed long enough.
Mind you he's 25 so 3 years will make him a bit old to start a test career on the wing.

About the same age as Corey Jane was?

No. Jane debuted at 25 (born 1983, debuted 2008) and his mental age was about 13.
