should be a good one- Exeter got a few key players back, though Yeandles ban hurts.

Re: Bath v Exeter Sat 3pm
This is something like the 2nd / 3rd prem match I've actually watched live this season. Only started as Zooming with my Brother and nephews later, who will be wearing their Ex shirts (brother was briefly in their academy back in the day)
It's a good one.
I'm seeing today what (maybe) Eddie doesn't like about Mercer though - takes an age to rejoin the line after a tackle. You can see Dunn (for example) fighting to get back in line and be ready almost before the phase is over, Zach looks like hes done his job for now, and if a quick phase goes past him, then so be it. Not something I've noticed before, but then, not something I typically look for.
We know this is a specific thing Eddie looks for in a player.
Lots of offences for notmrolling away when being held in after the tackle. They're being consistent, and Ref (Tempest?) Said "you put yourself there. It's up to you to make sure you can get out".
I've hated those penalities for opnot spontaneously disappearing, but with that logic, and consistent application, I'm okay with it. If you know your tackle position is going to put you on the ball, then either take the penalty, or bail out of the tackle.

Ex really liking these line-out throws all the way over the top, for a back to catch beyond the 15m line.
I'm far from convinced that Devoto is regularly running the full 10m whilst the ball travels 5 but hey

He can start running as soon as it's "clear" that the ball is going over the 15m, which is arguably as soon as it's thrown, since he knows what's going on.Which Tyler wrote:Ex really liking these line-out throws all the way over the top, for a back to catch beyond the 15m line.

Ahh, Okay, I thought he had to wait until the line-out was actually over, so ball past 15m.Raggs wrote:He can start running as soon as it's "clear" that the ball is going over the 15m, which is arguably as soon as it's thrown, since he knows what's going on.Which Tyler wrote:Ex really liking these line-out throws all the way over the top, for a back to catch beyond the 15m line.

That try is annoying. I'm pretty sure an officer player isn't allowed to take out the tackler like that (Maunder on Spencer).
ETA: Ugo and Lol calling it good play by the blocker. As soon as the bal is picked up though, the blocker is illegal. Obviously, as a team, you do it until penalised

Best i've seen Bath play for a while in that opening quarter. They looked terrific but Exe showed their quality and completely took over for the last hour.
