So it's England v Scotland this Saturday. About as big a 'David v Goliath' match as it's possible to get, but a win is always possible. I think it's available live on BBC iPlayer.

Ah, didn't realise it was so soon. They've improved massively. Suspect England will be too much but hopefully can keep it competitive.

would always struggle in this one, without Jade Konkel very difficult to see a win. I'd settle for respectable right now. Fingers crossed

They got an absolute amazing result against France last 6N but we need to find a way to suplement some income for the scottish women so they can train more

I'm looking forward to this. I haven't previously watched much of this 6N and it's fun to sometimes watch sport with fewer preconceived notions. It's a good idea to deconflict with the men's - there's only so many games you can watch in a weekend and they're competing for much the same audience I suspect.

Anyone watching the Italy game? It's strangely comforting to see a scottish team score three points and then mess up a restart to conceed seven. Suggests that it's somehow genetic.
Italians looking more powerful in general. Making lots of ground when each time they keep the ball in hand.

Comprehensively outclassed in the end. Italians looked like scoring all the time. Final try at the end there must have been 25 meters on the left wing for the replacement wing to run into (from a scrum) with noone in the bin.
In attack it reminded me a lot of watching Frank Hardens Edinburgh. A lot of side to side hoping to stretch the defence and find a gap to run into but not a lot of committing defenders.
Thought that our 12 and 6 looked like our better players, but very much fighting a losing cause.

Just watched the extended highlights of that. Scotland are immeasurably better than they were even 5 years ago but the other teams are improving fast too (and from a more solid base). Big game next week against Wales. Chance for a win against a team we should be competing with.
