I think getting the play-off final widely broadcast is a great effort. Let's hope it's a game to rival last year's for entertainment. A boring kickathon laced with multiple scrum resets could do more harm than good.

Agreed - I especially think having the highlights show on terrestrial is a underrated tool.

Shame the final's not on ITV proper, rather than ITV4 though. I'd've thought it would be worthwhile knocking a bit off the price to guarantee a more significant slot. Mind, it's perfect to tie in with the 6N being partially on ITV - the last four rounds of England games are on ITV, so hopefully one of these Prem games will be the week after the 6N and the presenter can tie it in with "And, if you want more rugby after England's stunning Grand Slam triumph, we've got London Irish vs Northampton Saints, next Saturday at 3pm!"

I think it's great news - and hopefully being looked upon as a first toe in the water and a view to 1 match per week in a couple of years time

I also think it's great news. I just wish someone had had the foresight to be doing something similar for the last 20 years.
With football (outside of FA Cup) and then Cricket being off terrestrial, rugby could have been the only game in town.
Unfortunately, I feel this could be too little too late as most people under 20 barely know what terrestrial channels are and are more likely to watch shows on their laptop than on an actual TV. I've been amazed the last few years at work by how many people in their twenties just do not own a telly!
A Christmas temp this year was born in 2005. Made me feel so old...
