Weird bench split for Tigers. Not sure what two opensides on the bench does for us. I presume we've run out of fit backs and Borthwick doesn't want to bring in any of the young uns.

Good side though, especially for an international period. Nice to see that Whitcombe's getting more game-time over the safe option of Leatigaga - was impressed with him against Sale. Disappointed that JVP isn't starting - can only think it's a horses-for-courses with the weather, but this would be an ideal learning opportunity for him.

Yeah I'd prefer to see JVP starting this one. I'm a little worried he's being kept on the bench in case Burns going off with his cramp issue. Don't want to see JVP at fullback again.

Agree on Whitcombe, he looks ready for this level of rugby. Makes sense to get him the experience for him to develop and grow.

Mind, he was a pretty decent full-back when he came on - the issue was not being able to replace Wigglesworth as he tired, which you'd hope would be less of an issue this week vis-a-vis the quality of the opposition.

Yes I'm more worried about another 80 min Wigglesworth performance. I'd actually prefer JVP to play 80 split between 9 and 15.

well.....yes. As per last week really, and we know how that turned out. I suppose the theory would go that you wouldn't want Wiggy to have to play 79 minutes if JVP got injured....but he did that last week.
Burns had 'cramp' then?

He caught some high balls well, and attacked the line ok. But unsurprisingly the back field coverage suffered. Hegarty is no 10.

Hegarty has actually looked good at 10 previously, two errors from him really did for us though Vs Sale.

Fair, my sample size of one was disproportionate though he doesn’t look a place kicker either

Again, an area where previously he's looked solid. Before last weekend there was a number of Tigers fans, and I was fairly close to agreeing, that Hegarty had looked better at 10 than Burns so far this season. Last season was a big swing in Burns favour and by the sounds of it today is going well for him with Tigers 22-6 up and Wuss down to 13.
