Here's something I learned today. EPL broadcast rights for New Zealand are owned by Al Jazeera (as from August this year).

Not really. Al Jazeera already has a presence on paid TV here, and they've got their own dedicated sports channel. I wouldn't be surprised if they're negotiating a deal with Sky to get beIN on to the Sky Sports channels listings.
