Friday XV

Post by Lizard »

If we are doing RR nostalgia properly, we need to do a Friday XV.

Taking a cue from the MikeWlg board - Dead Musicians XV.

I'll start, feel free to suggest changes

1. M. Cass
2. S. Vicious
3. B. Smalls
4. P. Lynott
5. M. Hunter
6. J. Joplin
7. K. Moon
8. I. Kilmister
9. B. Scott
10. W. Mozart
11. E. Presley
12. J. Ramone
13. J. Ramone
14. D. Ramone
15. T. Ramone

No room for Andy "guitar" Sheridan?

"Andrew Sheridan (born 1 November 1979 in Petts Wood, Bromley, England) is a retired[2] English rugby union player and musician, who played as a loosehead prop."

Not technically deed, but...

Maybe we need to do a Classics XV v Modern XV?

Nikolai "Tricksy" Rimsky-Korsakov at 10, obviously.

Ludwig "What?" van Beethoven at hooker.

I'd have Val Doonican at standoff and outside centre, on the grounds he died more than once.

I'd have Paul McCartney and Denny Laine as Wings, and possibly Monroe as Hooker.
John F., Robert and Edward would be on the bench to cover the back 3.

Really? You would pick the guy famous for wearing glasses and the guy with a pupilliary abnormality? Why not go the whole hog and have Blind Lemon Jefferson throwing into the line out?

Second row must be Long John Baldry in the deid's and the tall Croatian Krist Novoselic from Nirvana for moderns.
I was thinking Mick Fleetwood but the Rumours put me off.

5. Jimi Hendrix
6. Howlin' Wolf
7. T-Bone Walker
8. Leadbelly

10. Son House
11. Buddy Guy
12. Sonny Boy Williamson, obviously
13. T-Model Ford
14. Lightening Hopkins
15. Jack "Token" White

Ref: Blind Lemon Jefferson

I would suggest Max Carrados as referee, but I don't think he's been on the telly.
