Ludlam and a couple of the other Saints a bit lucky in that scuffle. Ludlam makes contact with the eye area whilst trying to grab the Munster guys head. Ribbans with the head lock and Proctor coming in to the prone players like a missile. Not a great advertisement for the game.

After a yellow card a piece for the scuffle it's a stone wall penalty try following a lovely Finn Smith crossfield kick, tackle in the air.

Oh nope somehow it's only a yellow card and not a penalty try, bizarre.

Munster down to 13 for a spell so great chance for Saints to get back into the game.

Watched for a while but gave up, Northampton looking toothless in attack.

Coombes overlooked for man of the match. Robbed.

Your not wrong, Saints have lacked imagination in attack and whilst they've won a lot of penalties they've shown no hint of a clinical edge.

Agreed re. Saints' dental shortfalls, and yes, refereeing interpretations don't appear to be consistent across Europe. In the Prem, that tackle in the air would surely have resulted in a penalty try.

Reffing interpretations don't appear to be consistent across individual games let alone across Europe. It really was a stone wall penalty try, that crossfield kick was perfect.

Saints seem to be playing with very little belief of confidence at the moment.

Saints should have had a penalty try. Inexplicably bad decision by the officials not to award one. But Saints were pretty dire in attack. Plus, Munster used every trick in the book to slow things up and push the laws to the absolute limit.
