Amongst all the negativity about head contacts, abuse of referees, RSA winning the RWC ;), aimless kicking etc etc, weird tournament formats... I've made no secret of my waning love for the game, so - let's have some positivity.

What is still great about rugby?

Dallaglio is an annoying co-commentator but I always admired him for sticking his face out and inviting opposition hulks to get sent off by punching it.

A refreshingly different article from the constant wish for yesteryear from has-beens eeking out a retirement from the media.

I've not been to a game of rugby in years thanks to living in Hungary and having different priorities.

And so, for me, I always look back on one match in particular.

And it's a match that my team (Quins) lost.

And it's a match where 1 solitary try was scored.

And it's a match where MoM was an opposition player who didn't score any points or make any assists.

And it's a match everyone remembers for something opposite...bloodgate.

But I remember it for several different reasons.

Firstly, considering it finished 5-6, it was an incredible game of rugby. Both teams were physical and the amount of incredible midfield tackles was just wow. BOD was a defensive masterclass.

Secondly, and this could have ended in tragedy...sitting very close to us were some Leinster fans. And on the final whistle, one of them collapsed. The speed at which the Quins fans around him reacted, getting the attention of medical staff and doing what they could for him, meant he made a full recovery. Being there, and not being able to help because TOO MANY PEOPLE were already helping...just made me think: thank god we're at a rugby match.

And thirdly, drinking with the Leinster fans after. Who could have thought that, after a controversial game that ended 5-6, we could have a drink with the opposition fans and enjoy ourselves. It was a truly memorable and great experience.
