Barbeary and Bath very lucky. That looked a straight red to me. Developing into a good game.

Bath very grateful to Cokanasiga there. Attacking and looking for injury-time points to take into half-time and then throw a stupid pass for an intercept that should've been a try to Racing if Big Joe hadn't seen it early and already started running back, showed an excellent turn of pace to get to him, didn't panic when the step came in, and turned and chased him back down to make the tackle. He's been far from perfect in that half, but that was an excellent bit of work and possibly saving the match. Going in 17-8 down having conceded from a stupid mistake while pressing for a try would've been a very different feel to going in 10-8 game.

I missed the first bit of the game and have only just seen the Barbeary tackle at halftime. That's a clear and obvious red - he'll get cited and potentially banned for the Italy match.

Something changed pre world cup where they started waffling on about level of force for head shots that were given without hesitation previously.

You seem to have to take someone's head off their shoulders to get one now.

But yeah, that one really should be cited post game if we are even paying lip service to protecting players.

How was he onside? Feels like he was virtually running backwards to retrieve that cross-kick.

Healey doing some quite interesting sounding analysis that I don't seem to be able to see.

Both moved down to yellow quite generously.

Bath have got the turnover. They just need to take their time and get the next lineout right to run down the time.

Yep. It's mainly my Scottish bias that had me so interested in Bath this season anyway, but it's great for the Premiership to have Bath be a strong team again. I've never been to the Rec and quite tempted now.

Townsend should be delighted that Bath are setting up with a quality 10/12 combination. Tuipulotu was playing 13 yesterday for Glasgow. That would have a similar feel to what Bath are using and Scotland like a fluent style of rugby.

Hell of a good result for Bath. Thought they were down and out when Arundell scored, but they showed some real character to come back and then hold on for the win. Put both Bath and Quins through and gives Bath a very good chance of a home game next round, albeit their last game is pretty much a guaranteed zero points.

Really poor from Barbeary. 2 red card offences in the same game must be some kind of record. He's got to get a multi week ban you would have thought. Pity as he did play a big part in the Bath comeback.

I'd so thoroughly given up on understanding how the Euro cup works that I didn't even realise that was on the line. Fantastic.

They just replayed a bit of England/Aus series on the dodgy stream I was using, Freeman reminded me a bit of Cohen in not really stepping anyone or bumping players off, but simply being fast, powerful and agile enough that he's really horrible to tackle. So yeah get Freeman back on the wing and pick whoever can make some space for Lawrence in midfield.

Barbeary's an odd one yeah. Made such a positive case (to start at 8 for England) in a lot of ways, but channeling that aggression with accuracy is so important. Tom Willis really seems to have that.

Great win for Bath, and Lawrence is getting better and better. Think Dingwall could play in a similar way to Redpath tbh.

As an aside, and my law ignorance may be showing here, but for the 1st Racing try, the 9 picked the ball up in the middle of a ruck- there were bound players behind where he picked up, so it wasn’t out. Isn’t that handling in the ruck?
