Oh Ben Hammersley that's a shocker.

Strange refereeing throughout. Two knock-ons were ignored in one move. On at least two occasions 'maul' was called despite the tackled player's knees touching the ground. Scrummaging is largely a mystery to me but there was a clear case of the Glasgow prop losing his bind only for the Exeter one to be pinged for pulling it down.
Interpretation does bring up apparent inconsistencies but application of the laws by this French ref was at odds with that practised by English refs in the Premiership.

Some of the calls seemed a little odd. The try drama at the end could have been averted by simply penalising the Glasgow 9 for being offside and playing Townsend.
Exe not at their best and a touch fortunate to get the win. They looked a bit toothless at times and didnt display a great deal of invention.

Agreed. I suppose good teams sneak wins despite playing badly. Exeter are on the verge of being a good team again.fivepointer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:10 pm Some of the calls seemed a little odd. I heard the commentator say that Vintcent has under-20 caps for Italy, I think. Anybody know if he's committed to that country?

Well, till he was replaced. I thought he was unlucky to be yellow carded. No account was taken of another Glasgow player crossing in front of Weir thus unsighting Fisilau.
I think one factor in assessing Fisilau is that he loses nothing in physical comparison with Roots and Vermeulen (despite being significantly prettier). He's deceptively tough in contact, defends well and has good hands.
