Bledisloe foul play

Disturbing video footage had emerged over the weekend showing a clear breach of the foul play Laws yet neither the referee or citing commissioner did anything about it.

I'm sure you all know the disgusting incident I am talking about. That's right - when Nick Phipps missed a tackle on Fekitoa, he was left holding only Malakai's boot which he promptly biffed about 20 rows back into the crowd.

Aussie fans will wonder why he doesn't show such fleetness of mind and accuracy of arm when operating at the base of a ruck.

All Blacks fans will no doubt point to Foul Play Laws 10.4(m) regarding unsportsmanlike conduct and 10.5(a) mandating a yellow card for transgressions thereof.

That is a textbook grub move. Pissed myself when I saw it in real time.

Sportsmanship aside, it's a clever one alright.

Of course there's no excuse for Feks not to have done his laces up properly and taped them down.

Fekitoa himself did it to Conrad Smith last year in the super rugby final IIRC. Headgear is another good one to chuck away.

It's a bit easier to play without headgear than without a boot.

Very petty. Indicative of the Australian attitude that night. All about the niggle.
