I think Franks should have been cited for having his hands in the face of that Aussie, but our mate O'driscoll had a wee melt down at some kiwi wums on twitter. He seems bitter about something........

It appears he deleted a tweet because a bunch of people (Kiwis we don't get to see the words of there?) got in a tizzy about it. You should check out the daily mail, it's got loads of journalism of this standard full of tweets and pictures and fun, contextless quotes.

It seemed to me he was wound up by kiwis and went a little too far, considering he should be an ambassador for the game.Mikey Brown wrote:It appears he deleted a tweet because a bunch of people (Kiwis we don't get to see the words of there?) got in a tizzy about it. His tweet was distasteful though. Its hard to feel sorry for what happened to him in 2005 when he posts stuff like that.

Well, hopefully this and Kane Douglas, the alleged gougee, saying "nah, he didn't" should put the matter to rest.

Thats pretty conclusive IMO. I almost feel he should have got something just to discourage future players from even making contact with opposition faces though. I see that dickhead Stephen Jones has stuck his oar in now, specifically targeting the ABs, whilst happily ignoring the rest of the citing indecrepencies over the years including one in that very game where Reads face was raked by an Australian loosie.cashead wrote:

That close up only shows 1 of 2 instances of hand/face contact. For me, the conclusive point is lack of reaction and lack of later complaint from the "victim."
That said, in the interests of justice being seen to be done, this should have been cited and gone through a hearing. A published judiciary decision saying there was contact with the face but not the eyes, proven by close up footage, would have been better for all concerned* than the ongoing circus.
*Except Mr S Jones, of course, who could not have been more boringly predictable by jumping on this bandwagon.

According to Jones, Douglas claiming Franks is innocent is because the Aussies had already had a massive whinge about the refs or somethingLizard wrote:That close up only shows 1 of 2 instances of hand/face contact. Maybe it's because the Head Coach of the Australian national rugby team appeared to call a duly appointed match official a "fucking cheating cunt" on live television?
And Cheika wonders why no one listens to his captain.
Plank.

Matt Burke has joined in now. Australian tears never tasted so good!Lizard wrote:Maybe it's because the Head Coach of the Australian national rugby team appeared to call a duly appointed match official a "fucking cheating cunt" on live television?

One thing is for sure Matt and co, referees don't miss tackles and leak tries. Learn to tackle and get a pack with some balls.

Here's a more serious look at the roots of Aussie's problems. Only 35% of Aussie kids attend private schools, yet those schools (or at least the NSW and QLD ones) provide 74% of Wallabies. No wonder all their young talent ends playing the criminal code or aerial ping pong.
By comparison, only 17% of the All Blacks squad came from private schools (with another 13% from state-integrated church schools).
