In my younger days, a mentor gave me this advice about talking to the press:
"There's always (at least) two stories: there's the one you want to tell, and there's the one the journo wants to tell, and they're very rarely the same story. So be very very careful and don't do it unless there's a decent upside for you."
After several Ben Dovering's I concluded he was right.
Take it or leave it.
But look at Steve Hansen: does he seem like the guy who is going to reveal his actual inner emotional state to a rugby journalist? I seriously doubt this. I'm not even convinced he HAS an inner emotional state. The scribbler probably interviewed a janitor at Eden Park ...
