The Edinburgh back 3 could be special with a decent coach.

Swap the backs coaches and they'd develop so quickly.

Who is the backs coach at Glasgow? And do they do backs/forwards or attack/defence or what? At Edinburgh Hodge is "attack" and McRae is skills, I think, and I guess Cockerill does forwards as well as overall - do they also have someone specialising in lineout throwing, think I read that somewhere. And am I right in thinking that Paterson is a sort of roving skills coach?

Jason O'Halloran.

Edinburgh do have a line out coach.

13 carries for Gray, 2 for Harley and 3 for Swinson. For a grand total of 4 yards

Edit. Espn updated it to 9 yards.

The 13 match up could br fun given that both have a great outside break but somewhat dodgy tackling ability (though no lack of bravery).

15 Kinghorn - Hogg
14 Graham - Seymour
13 Johnstone - Grigg
12 Dean - Horne
11 VDM - VDM
10 VDW - Hastings
9 Pyrgos - Horne

1 Schoeman - Kebble
2 McInally - Stewart
3 Nel - Halanukonuka
4 Toolis - Harley
5 Gilchrist - Gray
6 Hamilton - Ashe
7 Watson - Gibbons
8 Mata - Faegerson

16 Cherry - Bryce
17 Dell - Bhatti
18 Ceccarelli - Rae
19 CHH - Swinson
20 Crosbie - Fusaro
21 Fowles - Price
22 Hickey - Jones
23 Socino - Matawalu
I fear that it will be decided at 7/8. I would lov to see the Glasgow backs run riot, but they need the ball first.
You see I worry about the opposite. Glasgow don't need much ball to run riot. If we try control the game through endless round the corner one out runners then we will eventually get turned over or kick it away. If the later then VDW has a propensity to throw in a few loose kicks, although he gets the backs moving better than Hickey.
So I called this one wrong. Edinburgh controlled that game without really ever threatening to create anything. We now seem to be a team that is comfortable playing from in front and daring the other team to beat us. Felt sorry for Hastings but at least he didn't stop trying.

Good crowd at Murrayfield for the game, despite the cold weather. Did anyone catch the attendance figure?

Was a weird game who’s scoreline flattered Edinburgh but at no point did Glasgow look like they would win it.

Can’t see anything except a weeg win on Saturday but it’s a good chance for the weeg to work our how to beat a stronger pack, they need to find a way to breakdown a stronger more dominant pack

So same again from Edinburgh but Glasgow ring the changes in order to get something going in the backs.

He really hasnt offered anything has he. When he was signed I was worried he might reduce Scott and Bennett's time together but he is firmly 5th choice. Only other option is Turner who apparently impressed in his one game

Edinburgh are just missing a truly attacking and international class 9 & 10, and some more depth on the bench, and they will be there.

Congrats Embra.

Credit to Cockerill and in particular McRae for the shape of that defence.

So who has done their scotland chances harm and who hasn’t.

Improved
Mcinally - well with brown injured he was first choice but hasn’t rested.
Nel - got the better of Kebble although with both Zf and fb missing the weeg scrum wasn’t full strength
Gilchrist
Richie
Seymore

Less
JG
Wilson lost his place to Ashe and ain’t getting
Price looked lost and that pass to Hastings was brainless

Price been off the pace for a bit and Hastings not living up to the hype.

Agree with black cat above. I quite like VDW but don't think he's really a first choice 10.

Fair points Java - I would not be starting JG for Scotland if we had an international next week. Not even sure he'd make my 23 on form.

Yeah it’s definitely a question. I’d be tempted by GG even just for how vocal he appears to be on the pitch, something we really seem to lack.

Skinner seems to have really taken something from being capped and is looking really good for Exeter.

Gray and Price back in form would really be handy though.
