I don't think anyone ever suggested it was anything but. The disagreements came over how easy a fix our problems were.

I’d argue with ‘plucky’.

Perhaps he should take Brad Who? with him.

He’s an optimist. He was backing Lancaster till the bitter end.
On another point.....Itoje goes to pieces when chasing a game. I’ve said previously that he’s not really used to it but he doesn’t seem to be learning.

Just whenyou think things can’t get any worse, you agree with Woodward.

What did he say, other than 'I won the world cup in 2003'?

It was quite obvious before the squad set off that there was no benefit to taking the players who had been with the Lions. It looks like an even worse decision now as not a single one of them is playing well.

Which of the non-Lions are playing well?

If altitude ‘got’ Vermulen we might as well concede next week’s match now.

Answered one question from the Sky pitch side journo as sharply as possible and walked off.

Curry.
But then it can't be easy for guys like Williams and Slade playing next to guys who are clearly shot at.

Must be could to be a Saffa fan at the moment. Two good wins, Beast has 100 caps and you have an inspirational and eloquent captain. Eng on the other hand.

He’s been ok. Lost a few too many breakdowns, but then he’s 19 and has three caps so he gets plenty of leeway. My point is that the problems go beyond Lions players.

What can one say? There is simply no composure or control about the way we are playing. idiotic mistakes abound, dull options are par for the course. Good players are underperforming and we continue to gift points and territory through brainless penalties. We are making this game an awful lot harder than it needs to be.

I guess it will be Farrell to continue for the next match but captaincy does seem to be an issue - I mean, what does he think talking to Poite that way (and getting involved in the sillies) will achieve to help his team? Anyone other than Hartley a candidate?
Not really sure where to go for next week other than Cipriani to get a deserved start. I'd also like to drop Hughes but he's not the only pillock on the pitch in fairness. I can't help but feel that it's small margins really and there's a chance things could click again, the players know it but can't seem to work out a way.
Give Spencer a start? If only so we can understand why Youngs and Care have been retained so long.
I thought Itoje would his neck in after half time and had a pretty good game. Him and Launch seem a good combo.
Still, nice of England to do their bit for Saffa rugby's confidence....

There's some irony in the fact that we have two playmakers at centre and an out and out seven and are worse than we have ever been.
Careful what you wish for.

I'm moving towards the idea that Jones briefly got everybody overperforming and now that initial push and confidence have disappeared we're once again back with a bunch of players that are for the most part average at best at this level.
