The Gloucester academy is churning out some good players. A good chunk of those listed have done well for the England U20 side and Reeves looked very good for the U18s.

VRR is a loosehead I believe.

Glaws have a rather small squad, with a decent amount of turnover... there's good quality, but a few injuries could see them in a bit of trouble. They're in the champions cup aren't they?

The success of Gloucesters recruitment boils down to the two new front rowers for me. I don’t know much about Dreyer or Marais, but if they’re the real deal then that Glos pack/tight 5 is looking a bit intimidating.

Grobler is my pick for signing of the season, looked immense in his brief appearances for Munster, and over here he’ll be allowed to just get on with his rugby without all the intrusion he got in Ireland.

Back three, full back in particular as one of them, arguably centre as the other. Afoa is a tough one to replace for sure, that could well be the crux.

VRR is definitely a loose head. Top player when fit too.

The turnover may hurt them, but then if they have previously injured players back available like VRR, Thorley and Purdy, there’s some decent depth too.

I’m being super picky but Thompson-Stringer is a loose head and Ollie Lawrence at Worcester is definitely a 13. Lamb at Quins is more of a 6 than an 8 too.

Thank you - I'll add those to the list - though Mama did play for Zimbabwe U20 - anyone know who was their 2nd team?

And who they'd have played against? Zimbabwe rarely seem to name a next best side , and when they have it's been the A side or Sabres A whoever they are

A couple of interesting little bits in TRP today.

The ‘Young Guns’ article is with Will Wilson who has signed for Wasps after completing his degree at Oxford. His degree pretty much means he’s been off the radar as he’s not really been in the age grade set up but apparently he’s an openside with a background in sevens who is modelling his game on Guy Thompson. May come to nothing, but a young back rower with good footwork and good hands is interesting ...

The ‘Dream Team’ article is with Richard Barrington who has picked Henry Taylor as the best 9 he’s played with or against, saying ‘this guy’s going to be special’. Could be just a big-up for a mate, but Taylor was looking very promising before his injuries so maybe Barrington knows something we don’t?

Taylor was absolute quality whilst at Bedford. For me, up there with Kruis as our best DR.
