Curtis Langdon at Sale is very good.
I think the fact that he got so little game time is proof that Jones doesn’t think he’s good enough regardless of what he does on the pitch.jimKRFC wrote:True, suppose it depends if Dunn did enough in his 2 minutes to write himself off in Eddies' eyes.Epaminondas Pules wrote:LCD going (if he doesn't travel to SA) would be an opportunity to see if he can lift up into a leadership role. He's a very quiet 'does talking through action' type of character.jimKRFC wrote:As far as hooker goes I don't see a lot of value on LCD going, Eddie knows exactly what he can offer. I'd take Dunn as the starter with Barbeary and Capon as the up & comers. Give Dunn 60 minutes (to show is stuff rather 2 minutes) then 20 minutes to young ones to see how they go. Barbeary could also appeal as a utility 2/8 player.
Personally I'd put Capon ahead of Barbeary at 2 as he's actually played there in the premiership - appreciate that Barbeary offers better carrying, but will be interesting to see if he retains that whilst at 2.
Agreed. I mentioned him early in this thread but the lack of reaction presumably means others don't agree. He looks sharper and physically tougher in the loose than Dunn to me - based only on a game and a few bits admittedly. There's just something feisty about him that looks worth a try.fivepointer wrote:Curtis Langdon at Sale is very good.
He's one with a lot of potential. Looks a bit raw and I've seen him five away a few unnecessary penalties, England do enough of that already. I wouldn't take him instead of Dunn but I certainly thing there's a case for him to be one of the (presumably) three hookers for the summer tour squad. Eddie does like his hookers big which is why I assume Dunn doesn't get as many minutes as he should and Langdon is a similar size to Dunn. Not that either of them are small.Oakboy wrote:Agreed. Yes, he was out a while, came back to play one game and was then out injured again. He was just starting to play really well before his first injury. Had a great game vs Exeter around Christmas time, if memory serves.Peej wrote:What has happened to Singleton? Is he injured?
suspect he's somewhat taller and maybe even wider than LCD.Scrumhead wrote:I wouldn’t have said Dunn is notably small. If he is, he definitely punches above his weight.
I rate him very highly and I’d really like to see him get the summer tour to show his worth.
Until Barbeary starts playing at hooker and shows he has the set piece game to match the rest of his skill set, Dunn is still easily our 3rd best hooker IMO.
Langdon is a good shout although I do think Capon has a higher ceiling.
I'd say Dunn is normal size for a hooker whereas LCD and George are prop sized. Eddie seems to like that he had Hartley before who was a converted prop as well as LCD.Scrumhead wrote:I wouldn’t have said Dunn is notably small. If he is, he definitely punches above his weight.
